We Do Great Work With Great People
AIGA-UNO is a partnership between the University of Nebraska at Omaha Art & Art History Department’s concentration in graphic design and the University of Nebraska at Omaha student chapter of AIGA, the national professional association for design.
As an AIGA, Design for Good initiative, AIGA-UNO’s volunteer designers work with on-and off-campus clients to not only make a better designed world, but also to make our world a better place. AIGA-UNO is committed to advancing design as a process that has the potential to craft social value through meaningful design and communication.
We Help And Develop Aspiring Professionals
Our goal is to give students the resources they need to further their design and communication skills by providing opportunities for networking, community, and personal growth. All this while bridging the gap between academics and their future professions.
To bridge that gap, we bring the profession into the classroom. During the senior year students are given the opportunity to volunteer as art directors for AIGA-UNO projects with real clients. So, just like taking a design from concept to reality, students start the process of turning education into a profession.
All of our client fees go directly back into the hands of the students in AIGA-UNO and the University of Nebraska at Omaha Art & Art History Department’s graphic design concentration. We support students with supplies, we buy the professional equipment needed to serve our clients and subsidize professional development activities like our thesis shows, guest speakers, and design competitions.
